Change Your Brain

Hello Everyone!

I have a dear friend that is a practicing Buddhist and mindfulness teacher.
She told me the story of when she was stopped for speeding by a police officer.
She smiled at him and said: “oh thank you so much! You reminded me that I need to slow down!”
He looked at her so surprised and perhaps thought she was a little crazy. I was so inspired by her story!

I would love to be at that point where I give thanks for getting stopped for speeding. And I am up for the challenge if it happens to me. She gave me an example of a way of being that I find beautiful and moving.

I know that many, if not all of YOU have grateful hearts. But did you know that gratitude awakens a parasympathetic nervous system response that creates a very coherent heart rhythm which activates a series of positive effects on your body and on your health? It can help you sleep better and lowers your stress hormones.

If you want to expand your sense of well being and abundance in your life,
And if you want all of the health benefits listed above, I recommend that those of you that do not have a gratitude practice make that part of your everyday self care routine.
We often take care of the outside, but it is what is within that matters the most. It is what keeps our spirit alive!

I don’t know about you, but I always feel so much happier when I’m expressing love and gratitude!
And I also prefer to hang out with people that are in that vibration. I feel so lifted up and blessed!

It’s not about being critical of those that tend to have a negative critical lens, but we become like the people we surround ourselves with.

As we start to value and care about ourselves more and more,it’s important to discern the amount of time spent in environments that do not support the best in ourselves.

Because our primitive brain tends to quickly go into survival mode and to react to fears, and because it is on the lookout for dangers, can easily perceive situations as threatening,, it takes practice and intention to develop a grateful heart and compassionate heart. So be patient with yourself as you’re learning to change the wiring in your brain.

If you’re already doing a gratitude practice,I’d love to hear how it’s changed your life. And if you haven’t done it, I highly encourage you to make gratitude a regular practice throughout your day.

And then when you’re really good at it, up level by practicing gratitude even in the more difficult circumstances.

You can change not only our chemistry, but it keep us young at heart. And we all know it changes everyone and everything around us!

I’m feeling grateful to have this beautiful circle to post and share with!
Thank you for all of you and for the love that you each bring to the world!!
