The Joy of being “comfortably uncomfortable”

I have been noticing the challenges that I and many of my clients face as we commit to moving forward in manifesting our vision for our lives.  It can be uncomfortable to move out of old patterns and act in alignment with our highest self and go for our dreams and just have fun!  And at the same time, there is a comfortable sensation of peace, joy and intuitive rightness that flows in us, whenever we choose to say yes to our truth, yes to what resonates deeply inside us.  Often, there is also a sigh of relief after trying something new and moving out of our comfort zone.  But there can also be difficult emotions that come up when we are acting in alignment with the truth within us. It can be scary!

I cannot tell you how many times, my clients describe how stuck they feel in certain draining patterns and when we brainstorm suggestions or action steps, I can FEEL their resistance showing up immediately.  I feel it in myself too.  I notice as I rise to new heights, that old familiar fear creeps in and tries to stop me from going forward.  Will they like my posts? What if I offend someone? What if “THEY” are disappointed?

The list goes on. I call it the BLAH BLAH BLAH station.  But NOW I go past the fear and tune into the radio station of the Heart.  When I am in my heart, I trust the Source, I trust the vision, I trust the dream. I FEEL the excitement of stepping out into the new even when it is uncomfortable.  And I say YES!  Every time I do, it gets easier and easier.  And the more I feel the benefits, the more willing I am to continue saying yes to being “comfortably uncomfortable.” It keeps me young at heart, empowered and excited to live everyday and stay open to the new.  So if  YOU want to be young at heart, if you want to keep growing until you are going, then I invite you to join me in the adventure and joy of being “comfortably uncomfortable”. Try on on new ways of being and doing.  Nobody is looking!  The truth is, if we don’t keep going, we stagnate and life becomes dull and drab.

For the fun and sheer joy of it, how about it you create a favorite playlist of songs for starters and just let yourself move to the music? Trust yourself. Trust the flow of life within you always communicating and loving you.  You may feel uncomfortable for a moment, but the minute you shift out of your head and into your breath, body and heart, the JOY will rise up in every cell!   Here is to more joy and fun in my life and yours!
